lifting-coxas-marla-de-aguiar     Thigh lift is the plastic surgery responsible for the removal of excess skin in the thigh area. It is mainly indicated for patients after major weight loss.

1. Can liposuction be performed on thighs?
Yes. Liposuction is more common than thigh lifts. But it can also be associated with lifting in some specific cases.

2. Is the surgery very painful?
The thigh lift is not usually painful in the postoperative period. We will prescribe over the counter painkillers to be taken prophylactically in the early days, that is, before any discomfort appears.

3. What are the scars?
There are two kinds of scars that will depend on each case. The scar may be located in the groin area along, before the thigh itself begins, for cases of minor or moderate excess skin. For large excesses, besides this scar in the groin, a vertical scar on the inner thighs will be required.

For this type of surgery we use absorbable sutures, that is, wires that are degraded by the body after a few weeks. Thus, the stitches do not need to be removed, they will disappear by themselves.

In the first five days, edema (swelling) and ecchymosis (purple) may be present. But, this will depend on how each patient responds to surgery.

The massages are very important. The first massage is performed about 4 days after surgery. They help in the early reduction of swelling and scar remodeling. We recommend the execution of at least 10 drainage sessions to be carried out on alternate days for a period of 30 days.
