lipoescultura-em-sao-paulo     Liposculpture is the name given to the aspiration of fat through small holes in the skin. This fat is then ready to be deposited elsewhere in the body that needs more contours, such as the glutes.

1. What is the difference between liposuction and liposculpture?
Liposuction is the removal of fat deposits in certain body parts. In liposculpture, in addition to removing fat, the fat is also prepared for depositing (grafting) in another region that needs more volume.

2. What are the sites that will receive fat grafting?
The most common sites of fat receptors are the glutes and deeper cellulite . But we can also perform the fat grafting in regions of the face, scars or other body depressions aiming to body remodeling.

lipoescultura-marla-de-aguiar3. What type of anesthesia is used for liposuction?
We can choose different types of anesthesia: local, local with sedation, blockade (epidural or spinal) or general anesthesia. The best option will depend on the patient’s condition and the area to be treated.

4. Does liposculpture slim?
No. Liposculpture removes fat deposits from one place and deposits elsewhere, remodeling the body contour. It should not be used as a way of slimming.

5. Is there a difference between liposculpture in women and men?
Yes. Although the surgery is performed in the same way, we perform the removal of fat deposits while maintaining the characteristic contours of the man or woman. Similarly, we perform the fat grafting either in the buttocks, face or body depressions.

6. In liposculpture, what is the amount of fat that has been deposited that actually takes?
Only about 50 to 60% of the deposited volume remains in place. The rest will be absorbed by the body itself.

7. What are the scars?
Liposuction and fat grafting are performed through small incisions in the skin. The resulting scars are about 1 to 2 cm and are located in areas that are easily covered by swimsuits.

8. When will the stitches be removed?
For this type of surgery we use absorbable sutures, that is, wires that are degraded by the body after a few weeks. Thus, the stitches do not need to be removed, they will disappear by themselves.

9. Is the surgery very painful?
Depending on the extent of the area to be treated, the patient may present mild to moderate pain in the first two days after surgery. However, the pain is usually bearable and easily combated with common painkillers.

10. Does the incision get very swollen and purple?
In the first 7 days, edema (swelling) and ecchymosis (purple) may be present. But, this will depend on how each patient responds to surgery.

11. How long does the surgery last?
It depends much on the extent of the areas to be treated. It can vary from 30 minutes to 3 to 4 hours.

12. How long will I need to stay in hospital?
From 8 to 24 hours after surgery. Depending on the type of anesthesia, liposuction and the extent of patient recovery.

13. Is lymphatic massage necessary?
The massages are very important. The first massage is performed about 4 days after surgery. They help in early reduction of swelling. We recommend the execution of at least 10 sessions that may be performed on alternate days for a period of 30 days.

14. Do I have to use compression garments after surgery?
Yes, the use of compression garments should be carried out for 30 days. The length of the belt that will be needed will depend on the areas to be addressed.
